5 Things to Do With Your Dog this Summer
Summer is a wonderful season, especially in the beautiful state of Arkansas. From warm weather to longer days, summer just seems to bring endless opportunities for fun. You plan fun activities and trips for the rest of your family, so why not include the furriest member of your family: your dog? We’ve put together a list of five things to do with your dog this summer. If you’re traveling and need somewhere to board your dog or if they need someone to play with during the day, consider dog boarding or daycare here at the Canine Country Club of Arkansas in Roland near Little Rock. 1.Take a road trip. Arkansas is filled with beautiful spots to go explore with your pup. There’s a reason it’s called The Natural State, after all. Pick a waterfall to find or hike to the top of Pinnacle Mountain. Wherever you decide to go, just hop in the car with your dog and hit the road. Be sure to take plenty of water for your furry friend!
2.Play frisbee in the park. You may be working on your “beach bod” and your dog needs to get exercise too! Go to a park with your pup and play frisbee or fetch. The game doesn’t matter, as long as you are both moving and getting exercise.
3.Teach your dog a new trick. There’s no better time to teach your dog something new than summertime. From ‘sit’ to ‘stay’ to ‘roll-over’, just pick a trick and have fun with it! If you want your dog to get a good amount of training and you lack the time, consider sending them to the Canine Country Club. We offer dog training, including puppy kindergarten and more!
4.Cool off. You and your family like to cool off by the pool or at the beach during the summer. Can you imagine if you had on a fur coat in the Arkansas heat? This is the perfect reason to plan things that will let your dog cool off throughout the summer. Take them to the lake or make pup-friendly popsicles for a cool treat. We have an in ground, saltwater pool for our dogs here at the Canine Country Club of Arkansas, so you can let them come here and swim with their friends!
5.Bring your dog to work. June 23rd is National Take Your Dog to Work Day. If your office allows pooches, bring your dog along to work one day as a special treat. Chances are your dog would LOVE to get to spend more time with you and make new doggie-friends!
From swimming to frisbee to road trips, make a list of fun things to do with your dog this summer and start checking them off!
