Summer heat in Arkansas shouldn’t be taken lightly when it comes to your pets. We mentioned several ways to keep your pup cool during the summer in one of our blog posts. One tip is to give them cold, dog-friendly treats! But what are some cold treats that are good for dogs? We’ve put together a list of five cold treats for dogs that will help them play it cool this summer. And when they’re ready to work off some of those treats, send them here to the Canine Country Club of Arkansas in Roland right outside of Little Rock.

1.Peanut Butter and Fruit Ice Dog Treat. This could almost make a human hungry, too! You use a bundt cake pan to freeze this treat in the shape of a ring that can be thrown for your pet to chase in the yard. A great way to cool them down and have fun at the same down! Find the recipe here.

2.Frozen Yogurt-Dipped Strawberries. Are you ready for the easiest treat on the list? We thought so! All you do for these yummy treats is dip fresh strawberries in plain yogurt and freeze! Get the full recipe here.

3.Frozen Apple Dog Treat. This treat will satisfy your pup’s sweet tooth and can be refreshing. You use 2 apples for these treats but you remove ALL seeds and the core (dogs should never eat the apple seeds and the core can be a choking hazard). Find the recipe here

4.Chicken Pops. Want your dog to have a cool treat but looking for something more savory than sweet? These chicken pops are easy to make and will definitely make them happy! Read the recipe here.

5.Frozen Banana Treats. Here’s another healthy, frozen treat and this one includes bananas! Check out the sweet recipe your pup will love.

Cold, dog-friendly treats are not hard to make and there are hundreds of recipes out there. Include the kids and make it a family activity this summer. If you take the time to make your dog these tasty, frozen treats, they’ll be thanking you with a wagging tail and a happy tummy! And when your dog needs playtime with his friends this summer, bring him to the Canine Country Club of Arkansas near Little Rock. Contact us or make a reservation for your dog today!
